Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh is a family-run business that started from an HDB flat’s kitchen by founders Mr. Toh Poh Seek and Mdm. Toh Bong Yeo. Its popularity led them to open up a confectionary at 1 Everton Park in 1988. Today, the married couple’s dream has long since fulfilled, with thousands of customers visiting their humble confectionery at 1 Everton Park daily.
In 2021, Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh launched another flagship confectionary at Bugis. It is helmed personally by Mr Toh’s younger son, Kelvin. Despite the brand’s continued popularity, Ji Xiang still refuses to turn to technology to “make things faster”. Instead, every one of their delicious Kuehs is still made by hand daily. Filling and moulding the Ang Ku Kuehs by hand ensures that the skin remains the right thickness and chewiness. You can even see the artisans making the Ang Ku Kuehs when you visit the store!
